If you’ve updated to iOS 9 and the jailbreak withdrawal is finally kicking in, there may be a way for you to get your jailbreak back soon. According to a tweet by Luca Todesco, a veteran of the iOS jailbreak scene, an iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak tool has been developed. While a release date has not yet been specified, it’s expected to precede the release of an iOS 9 jailbreak by a large margin.
On June 16, Apple released the final version of iOS 9, following the numerous public and developer betas that had preceded it. Although a jailbreak method for iOS 9 has been discovered by "iH8sn0w," the jailbreak won’t be released before iOS 9.1 drops. The first build of iOS 9 has a plentiful supply of bugs, and releasing a jailbreak for the version will only result in Apple patching all the vulnerabilities in the iOS 9.1 release. This would result in the bug-free version of iOS 9 not being jailbreakable.
This explains why iOS 9 users have been instructed to downgrade immediately, so that they can jailbreak their devices once Todesco releases the iOS 8.4.1 jailbreak. For those looking to downgrade, here’s a tutorial on how to go back to iOS 8.4.1 from iOS 9.
